Baja Bound Photo Of The Day – Guadalupe Valley Wine Grapes

March 3, 2011 - 4:17 pm

The Guadalupe Valley just northeast of Ensenada is rapidly emerging as a great wine producing region and is capturing the interest of wine enthusiasts and critics around the world. The Baja wine country is not only producing some of the more commonly known types of wine such as Cabernet, Merlot, Syrah and Chardonnay, but some of the lesser known grapes such as Tempranillo, Nebbiolo and Grenache are being produced as well.  And if you want some cheese with your wine, you are in luck! There are a number of excellent artisanal cheeses that are being produced on local farms in the area that can be sampled and bought at the wineries. If you have never taken the time to explore the Baja wine country, do yourself a favor and spend a day or two and you will experience a side of Baja that many still do not know exists! There are a number of charming B&B’s such as La Villa del Valle and Hacienda Guadalupe that will make your stay in the valley even more amazing. The above photo of red grapes on the vine was taken at the Baron Balche winery during a dinner and concert that Baja Bound Mexico insurance was sponsoring. It was a great evening of music, wine and entertainment!
