Baja Bound Sponsors The Lucha Libre Race Team!
Baja Bound Mexican Insurance has signed on to be a sponsor of the Lucha Libre racing team as they prepare for the annual La Carrera Panamericana road rally held in Mexico. Once again, the Lucha Libre team will be taking on the 6 day, 2000 mile course in their 1967 Datsun Fairlady, which has finished the event two times already. Granted, they finished last, but finishing at all is a big accomplishment. Around 20% of the vehicles usually do not cross the finish line due to severe mechanical failure along the way, or a crash that renders the vehicle undriveable. In addition to the rally, the Lucha Libre team will be taking along much needed school supplies that will be donated to kids along the way. The rally will begin in the town of Tuxtla Gutierrez, Oaxaca and end in
Nuevo Laredo.
This week I had the chance to meet up with the Lucha Libre Racing team at Cantina Mayahuel (great food!) in San Diego for a promotional event leading up to the Carrera Panamericana. Attendees included fans, friends and sponsors of the car.
Visit the Lucha Libre Racing website for more information about the team and the Carrera Panamericana road rally.
