Disabled Explorers Head To Baja To Help Coco
If you have ever driven from Gonzaga Bay to Mexico 1 in Baja, you’ve probably had the chance to experience Coco’s Corner. Coco is definitely one of the most intriguing characters you will come across in Baja. Years ago he dropped out of society and posted up in a remote section of Baja desert, where he has been able to carve out a curious little niche for himself. Coco is a double amputee, and has been getting around by using a quad, or doing his best with the remainder of his legs.
This weekend, Lance Blair and a crew from Disabled Explorers are visiting Coco to see if he is interested in getting fitted for prosthetic legs so he will be able to walk again. Baja Bound is proud to be providing the Mexico insurance for their journey in their souped up Sportsmobile W.A.V.E (Wheelchair Accessible Van for Expeditions).
