Taco Tour Part One – El Trailero
One of the many joys of traveling in Baja is the culinary delights that you discover along the way that then become a “must stop” during your travels. I had heard about El Trailero from a number of friends long before I ever stopped to eat there, and I am happy to report that it truly lives up to it’s reputation as one of the best taco stands in Baja.
The wide counters are adorned with stacks of fresh radishes, onions and cucumbers to enjoy with your meal, along with fresh lime and homemade salsa. The carne asada and the tacos al pastor are both equally amazing, and I have yet to try anything else since the aforementioned selections are unstoppable!
Another great thing about El Trailero is you can tell the staff enjoys what they do. They have great rapport with their clients and exchange jokes and casually heckle each other as they prepare the food in front of you. It all adds up to a really fun and fulfilling experience. El Trailero is located on the east side of Mexico Highway 1 in El Sauzal, just north of Ensenada.
